Burmese marionette hand carved puppet “Hanuman”, circa late 19th Century?. He has a tail and is holding a Gada in his left hand.
Exquisitely detailed and richly decorated costume with beading, roundels, metallic thread, etc.
24 inches long. No makers mark or markings. Weighs about 5 pounds.
Strings are tangled, one string looks to be broke near the neck, and there is fraying on the fabric in a few places from age (see photos).
